How to Shape the Future of Consumer Protection: Privacy by Design (ISO 31700) in the World of AI
As AI continues to transform our daily lives, the need to embed consumer protection and privacy at the design stage of technologies has never been greater. This interactive workshop will explore how the new ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 44 sub-committee—continuing the work of ISO Project Committee 317 (which published ISO 31700)—can shape the future of consumer protection in the AI era.
Through a dynamic brainstorming session based on Robert Jungk’s « Future Workshop » methodology, participants will collaborate using Post-it notes, clustering inputs, and exchanging ideas across technical, legal, academic, and advocacy perspectives.
Led by former members of PC317, this workshop offers a hands-on opportunity to help define priorities, challenges, and creative directions for the next generation of standards in privacy by design. The insights gathered will directly inform the future work of SC44.
