LICORICE Workshop: Advancing Privacy-Preserving Technologies in Health and Cybersecurity

Building trusted digital ecosystems for health and cybersecurity
How can sensitive health and cybersecurity data be used, shared and analysed without compromising privacy?

The LICORICE project invites researchers, technology developers, industry representatives, policymakers and other stakeholders to its workshop “Advancing Privacy-Preserving Technologies in Health and Cybersecurity”, taking place on Thursday, 22 October 2026, at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) in Heraklion, Greece.

The workshop will showcase the latest developments from LICORICE and demonstrate how privacy-preserving technologies can support secure digital identity, trusted data sharing and collaborative data analysis in real-world health and cybersecurity environments.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore the technologies developed within LICORICE, learn from the project's two pilot applications, discuss emerging solutions and contribute to interactive sessions on usability and future adoption.
What to expect?
 Privacy-preserving Digital Identity
Discover how privacy-enhancing approaches to Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) can support secure and trustworthy digital interactions while giving users greater control over their personal information.
The session will explore the LICORICE approach to privacy-preserving identity and its relevance to the evolving European digital identity ecosystem.
Health Pilot

Explore how LICORICE technologies are being applied to health-related scenarios involving sensitive data.
The Health Pilot will present its implementation, emerging results and lessons learned on using privacy-preserving technologies to enable secure data use and collaboration while protecting sensitive information.
 Cybersecurity Pilot

Discover how privacy-preserving technologies can facilitate cyber threat intelligence sharing and collaborative cybersecurity.
The Cybersecurity Pilot will showcase its implementation and key results, demonstrating how organisations can strengthen cooperation while limiting the exposure of sensitive information.
European Digital Identity and Trusted Digital Ecosystems
The workshop will examine the evolving eIDAS/EUDI framework and discuss how privacy-preserving identity technologies can contribute to trusted European digital ecosystems.
Experts will explore the relationship between digital identity, data sovereignty, interoperability and privacy.
Emerging Technologies

Learn about emerging approaches for protecting data while enabling useful computation and collaboration, including privacy-preserving and cybersecurity technologies developed and explored within LICORICE.
The discussion will look beyond individual technologies towards their practical integration in real-world digital environments.
Interactive Usability Evaluation & Networking
The workshop will also include interactive usability evaluation sessions, providing participants with an opportunity to engage directly with LICORICE technologies and provide feedback.
The day will conclude with opportunities for discussion and networking around the future of privacy-preserving technologies, digital identity and secure data ecosystems.
Who should attend?
The workshop is designed for stakeholders interested in the future of privacy-preserving digital technologies, including:

  • Researchers and academics working on privacy, cybersecurity, digital identity and data protection
  • Technology developers and cybersecurity professionals
  • Health and healthcare technology stakeholders
