Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) is a multidisciplinary research institution specializing in the fields of technology, innovation, the humanities and social sciences, based in Trento (Italy). Within the Centre for Digital Health and Well-being of FBK, Digital Health Research is a multidisciplinary group conducting research on methods and models for the human-centered design of AI-powered digital health solutions for prevention and care. In the project, FBK contributes to ensure a user-centered design of the LICORICE toolsets to maximize their acceptance and future adoption by all relevant stakeholders.
Role in LICORICE'S PROJECT
FBK will support the human-centered design of the LICORICE toolsets by investigating the human factors and user acceptance criteria relevant to the future adoption of the Privacy Preserving Machine Learning (PPML) techniques deployed. By investigating the user perception of the LICORICE toolsets in the two piloting scenarios, it will provide guidance to developers for maximizing the toolsets capacity to match the user preferences and thus foster their adoption. Also, it will contribute new knowledge for policy makers, future standardization and current research regarding the LICORICE solution acceptance in the Health/CTI pilots based on the perspectives of all relevant stakeholders.
